Mater Dei is three-0. The Monarchs were No. ii in this week's CalPreps.com ratings that will be used to place teams in CIF Southern Section football game playoff divisions. Centennial was No. 3 in the ratings and St. John Bosco is No. 1.
The Huskies (2-1) opened the flavor by beating Santiago and San Diego Cathedral in ane-sided games.
Junior Elijah Brown is 20-0 in his three seasons as Mater Dei's starting quarterback. Brown was terrific again Friday, completing 16 of 21 passes for 298 yards and 3 touchdowns. Marcus Brown caught the three touchdown passes and had 186 receiving yards..
Mater Dei sophomore linebacker Nasir Wyatt had two sacks including one on which he caused a bollix he recovered.
The Monarchs had a 29-vii lead at halftime.
